HRC Project Grant announcement

Congratulations to Associate Professor David Newcombe on his HRC Project Grant for the proposal, The Evaluation of Treatment Outcomes for Methamphetamine Dependence in Aotearoa.

Regular methamphetamine (MA) use is associated with a number of physical and psychological harms. Currently there is limited evidence around the availability of effective treatment options, and what works for problematic MA use in NZ. This study aims to improve our understanding of what treatment approaches reduce methamphetamine (MA) use and related physical and harms, and to identify the predictors of positive treatment outcomes in NZ.

NIHI is thrilled to be supporting the roll out of this research.
