The following studies are currently recruiting participants:

Very low nicotine cigarettes – If you are a daily smoker of non-menthol tobacco cigarettes and at least 18 years of age, you may be interested in a study that looks at people’s preferences towards cigarettes that have been made with a very low nicotine content. 3D-Fetus – Are you a health professional that works in antenatal care and/or specialise in antenatal care? Or currently pregnant and smoking? We are inviting health professionals and pregnant women to give us their feedback on the usefulness and feasibility of a 3D-fetus computer simulation tool designed to educate/inform individuals the harm of smoking during pregnancy. ASCEND-II - If you are at least 18 years of age, smoke tobacco cigarettes and want to quit smoking in the next two weeks you might be interested in participating in a randomised trial to determine whether combining nicotine patches with e-cigarettes (with and without nicotine) can help people quit smoking. Keratin4VLU - If you have a venous leg ulcer and can use compression bandaging, you might be interested in participating in a randomised trial of wool-derived keratin dressings for venous leg ulcers currently recruiting through the Auckland, Counties Manukau, Southern District Nursing Services and Nurse Maude Association in Christchurch. SPACE – We are looking for people who want to quit smoking and have a diagnosis of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). If you are at least 18 years of age, live in the Auckland region, have not used Champix in the past 12 months, and have tried but failed to quit smoking using other smoking cessation medicines, you might be interested in participating in this clinical trial. The SPACE trial is wanting to assess if after completion of 12 weeks of Champix, a further 12 weeks of Champix or a placebo prevents relapse back to smoking. STATUS – We are looking for people who want to quit smoking and are using Community Alcohol and Drug Services or Community Mental Health Services in Auckland. Are you at least 18 years of age, live in the Auckland region, have not used Champix in the past 12 months, and have tried but failed to quit smoking using other smoking cessation medicines, you might be interested in participating in this clinical trial.
